Dementia- how does it feel?
CaraVita Home Care is now offering interactive classes in Dementia Care. This is part of our Community program- Dementia Life which seeks to help those in the community become more aware of Dementia and how to best support someone living with Dementia. You may sign up individually or classes can be taken out to social and church groups in the community. .
These classes will begin initially with Second Wind’s Dreams Virtual Dementia Tour to be offered Monthly at our office at 648 Mimosa Boulevard. You can call 770-643-1712 and sign up- in 30 min slots from 2-4pm on dates listed. The Tour is free, but donations can be made to Second Wind Dreams.

Additionally, a one-hour Dementia Friends Class will be offered that helps everyone in a community understand what dementia is and how it affects people, and how each of us can make a difference for people touched by dementia. This is ideal for local churches, and Sunday school classes, high school service groups, social clubs, and the general public. In the new year we will be offering a series of classes for family caregivers on the Person-Centered Approach to Dementia, how to best communicate and understand behaviors. Next month we will cover more about our Dementia Life Program and how it can individually help you and your loved one.
